reStyled by Valerie Interiors and Furniture Boutique is a Columbus-based home decor, interior design and vintage rental boutique. Its founder and principal designer is Valerie Esiso.

After decorating countless spaces for friends and family, mostly for free, and managing one too many personal remodeling projects, including designing more than a handful of vintage and one-of-a-kind custom pieces, Valerie decided to professionally pursue her longtime passion for design with her own company. reStyled by Valerie Interiors and Furniture Boutique was established in 2012.

With regards to her design sensibility, Valerie identifies most with the post-modern movement. She relies on her natural affinity for design, and her preference for vintage and locally handmade items guides her design process.

Valerie was born and raised in Nigeria, and credits her love for color and pattern and vibrance to this fact. Before starting her business, she earned her BSBA in Marketing and an MBA. She was All But Dissertation (ABD) for a PhD in Adult Learning and Development before taking time off to start a family. According to her, “having kids changed everything, and I’m thankful for that.”

Valerie draws inspiration from nature, art, movies, fashion, her own background and travels, and her life as a wife and mom of three. She identifies her favorite style as “an eclectic mix of mid-century modern, ethnic Bohemian and girlie glam. My ideal room would have loads of white, blush pink and chartreuse, a chandelier, exposed brick, natural wood, large wall art, and elements that are decidedly African. It would feature all my favorite things, things that are familiar to me because I believe a well-designed room is one designed to illicit happy feelings. With regards to my line of decor, my focus is on designs that will introduce the world to what I like to describe as contemporary world-chic design. These are pieces inspired by my background as a modern African woman living in a global world.”
